The company is demonstrating how denim can remain stylish and flexible thanks to new commercially available fabrics based on the shaping standards of innovative LYCRA® BEAUTY branded fabrics. Also on show for the first time in China is INVISTA’s brand new, third-generation LYCRA® BEAUTY fabric. It features a unique built-in COOLING technology that makes it ideal for intimate apparel, where comfort and shaping performance are essential.

“Innovation is embedded in INVISTA’s DNA. Since day one, we have focused on two key factors – developing our own innovative products, and contributing to the success of customers across the entire industrial value chain. This year’s INVISTA Rendez-Vous show is a concrete demonstration of our commitment to helping some of the most creative players in the industry to push back the frontiers of apparel excellence,” said Steve Stewart, Commercial Director – North Asia, for INVISTA’s Apparel and Advanced Textiles business.

LYCRA® BEAUTY branded fabrics are based on The Science of Shaping™ technology from INVISTA that can actually predict comfort and shaping capability. The concept of denim applications was born out of consumer insight studies that showed that nearly 80% of women were very or extremely interested in ready-to-wear garments that could enhance body shape. The research identified a satisfaction gap in denim relating to shaping and body enhancement, with and more than 60% of women preferring the denim fabric in their jeans to do the shaping versus other components.

“The many new and exciting ways to use LYCRA® BEAUTY fabrics in perennially popular denim applications, coupled with the range of commercial fabrics available right now show that INVISTA and our industry partners are leading the way in meeting those needs – not only here in China, but around the world,” Stewart said.

Also on show at Rendez-Vous 2015 is LYCRA® BEAUTY COOLING technology that provides the wearer with long-lasting freshness and confidence contributing to higher standards of comfort. The secret of its success is a combination of the quality of LYCRA® BEAUTY branded fabrics and unique nylon fibers with an engineered cross-section enabling moisture to reach the fabric’s outer surface where it evaporates quickly. As a result, the moisture transport properties are permanent.

The benefits of LYCRA® BEAUTY COOLING technology include:

  • Outstanding shaping with comfort
  • Exceptionally soft hand
  • Moisture transport – Moisture is drawn away from the body, rapidly dispersed and evaporated, promoting body cooling and comfort.
  • Quick drying – Rapidly disperses moisture for quick drying, promoting improved wearer comfort and easier garment care.

As well as the new LYCRA® BEAUTY fabric, a host of other products and technologies are also on display at the show, including:

COOLMAX® fabric
THERMOLITE® fabric & insulation
dualFX® technology by LYCRA® brand
BLACK technology by LYCRA® brand
FUSION™ technology by LYCRA® brand

Other highlights at INVISTA Rendez-Vous 2015 include the INVISTA Innovation Fabric Gallery, which offers visiting buyers a unique opportunity to preview advanced concept fabric developments from the INVISTA Textile Research Center. They can also be able to catch a glimpse of the latest commercial fabrics developed by mills in the LYCRA EXCHANGE™ programme.

“The LYCRA EXCHANGE™ programme has been designed to further strengthen the relationship between INVISTA and Asian mills seeking to develop a higher value marketing position. Mills that join the programme enjoy a series of dedicated, value-added INVISTA services, including creativity, speed and collaboration to help them to build long-term differentiation and competitiveness,” said Stewart.

As an annual Asia Pacific textile industry trade fair, Shanghai Intertextile Apparel Fabrics has been an important bridge to connect upstream and downstream players and contribute to the industry’s development. INVISTA Rendez-Vous 2015 has been a platform for players at every level of the value chain to communicate, collaborate and develop new, value-added products that meet the needs of an increasingly demanding market.
