More than 2,000 entrants from 50 countries took part in the prestigious event organized by WGSN, a trend and market intelligence advisor to leading apparel manufacturers and brands. The awards ceremony, held in London on May 14, was attended by 400 industry leaders.
INVISTA was participating for the third time. The judges of the LYCRA® Future Designer’s Award were looking for fresh ideas and creativity, combined with awareness of brand development and consumer targeting needs. Participants submitted designs that could be manufactured using fabrics with LYCRA® fiber along with mood broads and supporting documentation.
Natália Vechiatto Feitoza e Silva was delighted by her win.“Even before starting my studies I wanted to have my own label and now, thanks to the LYCRA® brand and the support I will get from INVISTA, I will be able to achieve this dream.” The 2015 short list included contenders from America, Asia and Europe.
“This year’s entries showed more than ever the value of melding cultures and inspiration from different parts of the world,” said Bob Kirkwood, INVISTA Executive Vice President of Technology and Marketing. “Natália’s activewear designs particularly impressed us in this respect and we look forward to helping her develop her career.”
