In addition to offering significant networking opportunities, a lively gala dinner and a trend-focused catwalk show, the two-day event featured illuminating talks by experts from Comercia Global Payments, Euromonitor, GfK, Holition, LinkedIn and Stijlinstituut Amsterdam. Expressing their views on the central theme of FUTURE FORWARD, they addressed issues affecting the market including international consumption trends, the female consumers' perception of footwear, sourcing issues, sustainable development, and technology innovation.
Looking to the future of hosiery and focusing on the FUTURE FORWARD conference themes of Better Me, Digitalisation, Wellness, Health & Performance, and Sustainability, INVISTA launched four innovations to the market.
For the growing sheer hosiery segment, SUPER SUMMER SHEER technology has been engineered to provide a hosiery solution for women, which covers imprecations on their legs, creating a “better than bare” look that is more durable than current product offerings. The technology is designed to feel like a second skin and provide low compression with no sagging and bagging after use. The technology makes use of ultra-fine LYCRA® fiber (T777F) and anti-laddering FUSION™ technology.
Building on the ‘look good, feel good’ concept and based on research from over 4,390 consumers in North & South America and Europe, INVISTA launched its new lifestyle compression offering - LYCRA® ENERGIZE™ powered by FUSION™ technology - designed to offer the consumer the extra benefits of all-day vitalising and energising support to empower them in their busy schedules.
INVISTA also stepped up its sustainability programme as it progresses towards lowering its energy intensity by 20% by 2020, with the launch of a water-saving, cost-saving technology for garment manufacturers. LYCRA® AcquaNRG technology is designed to save up to 30% of water used during the dyeing process and reduce the overall time it takes to dye materials by up to two hours. The new technology also reduces the number of chemicals needed to dye materials and lowers the energy used to run machines and heat up water, thus reducing the overall cost of manufacturing.
Designed for the mobile generation and appealing to the ‘selfie’ and personalised consumer, guests at LYCRA® FIBER MOVES were invited to test the easy to use LYCRA® F!T FINDER app. Enabling women to find hosiery that fits and feels comfortable, the trial multi-media app which uses body measurements alongside digital body scans has already been tested in Poland with Ferax and in-store (Gatta).
