German Swimwear Shoppers Encouraged to “Take Off with LYCRA® Fibre”

Summer is almost here and that means that women will soon be packing up their swimwear and jetting off to exciting beach holidays! To help ensure they have swimwear designed to survive the journey, LYCRA® brand will be promoting its LYCRA® XTRA LIFE™ fibre through its third window display contest. Swimwear made with this unique innovation lasts up to ten times longer than unprotected spandex, and resists the damage that chlorine, sunscreen, heat and UV rays can cause.

Fun Premiums for Premium Swimwear

This year’s theme is “Take Off with LYCRA® Fibre,” and participating swimwear retailers across Germany will decorate their windows for the contest, which runs from 24 April to 15 July 2017. Each participating retailer is provided travel-themed promotional materials free of charge, but they are not limited to using them and are encouraged to be creative. LYCRA® XTRA LIFE™ fibre branded props include a paper fan, boarding pass, window sticker, suitcase, airplane cutout and flip-flops. In addition, consumer giveaway items include brochures that explain the superior benefits of LYCRA® XTRA LIFE™ fibre, a shopping bag, and a real luggage tag shoppers can use on their next trip.

Generating Excitement and Sales

Designed to help drive retail sales, the window display contest is growing in popularity each year. It has generated a lot of excitement among German retailers who appreciate the unprecedented merchandising support INVISTA provides them at a critical time—the all-important start of the summer swim season. The LYCRA® brand sponsored award for best window display will be presented at the 2018 Sterne der Wäsche awards held early next year. There is one award for smaller retailers and a second award for larger department stores.
