The partnership between The LYCRA Company, key customers, and the organizers of the three-day event which began October 11th offers visitors unique insights to technology development, segment innovation and consumer trends. There was something for everyone – more, in fact, than in any previous year.
Visitors and trade journalists could explore the high-tech world of fiber science and learn how leading mills are exploiting it to deliver new standards of fabric and garment performance in virtually every apparel category.
Top draws this year included use of LYCRA® lastingFIT technology to offer unparalleled levels of bra comfort and support, applications of LYCRA® FUSION™ anti-laddering technology with finer dtex fibers for hosiery, use of the recently-launched LYCRA® SPORT PCE™ index to more precisely define performance characteristics in leggings, LYCRA® dualFX® technologies for outstanding shape retention in denim, and first sight of The LYCRA Company’s new THERMOLITE® FAR INFRARED technology for socks with proprietary additives to warm and keep feet dry.
Exclusive access to a gallery display of over 1,000 LYCRA® fiber brand qualified fabrics was a time-saving short cut on the busy agenda of most buyers.
An The LYCRA Company-led seminar offered expert opinion on the links between innovation and intellectual property, a subject of growing importance for the Chinese textile industry. A new Intellectual Property Report was analysed and discussed at length. Elsewhere, there were media briefings for the growing number of journalists who follow the apparel sector.
The 2017 The LYCRA Company Rendez-vous demonstrated once again that opportunities for profitable value chain collaboration extend well beyond product innovation and technical support. Global relationships, sourcing expertise, consumer insight, joint marketing programs, and the strength of LYCRA®, COOLMAX® and THERMOLITE® ingredient brands can play an equally important part.
The gala dinner that rounded off the event for many visitors was also a useful networking occasion for the 300 guests attending and an opportunity for The LYCRA Company to share its growth vision and commitment to the region.
