The LYCRA Company launches LYCRA® T400® fibre with EcoMade Technology

Jan 30, 2018

The LYCRA Company, owner of the LYCRA® brand, will showcase its latest fiber innovation at the upcoming KeyHouse show in Munich, Germany (30-31 January and 1st February). The company will unveil a new type of LYCRA® T400® fiber made in part from a combination of recycled and renewable materials.

New LYCRA® T400® fiber with EcoMade technology

According to Jean Hegedus, Global Director of The LYCRA Company’s Denim Business, “As the denim industry continues to seek more sustainable solutions, we looked at how we could improve LYCRA® T400® technology, while maintaining the fiber’s desirable performance characteristics,” Hegedus said. “We believe we’ve achieved that with new LYCRA® T400® EcoMade technology, and we’re excited for our customers to try it.”

LYCRA® T400® fiber is the building block for a number of The LYCRA Company’s denim concepts including LYCRA® dualFX®, LYCRA® XFIT, and LYCRA® TOUGH MAX™ technologies.

More than 65% of the new LYCRA® T400® fiber content comes from sustainable sources. Approximately 50% of the fiber is made from recycled materials such as PET (recycled water bottles), while another part is made from renewable sources such as plant based material. As a result, fabric mills, brands and retailers can get the same lasting performance they’ve come to expect from standard LYCRA® T400® fiber, now with enhanced sustainability.

KeyHouse will take place 30-31 January and 1st February 2018 at the Munich Fabric Start fair, hall 5. More:
