LYCRA® to Celebrate Fusion of Technology, Fashion and Sustainability at Colombiatex 2020

Leaders from across the Latin American textile chain will convene this week (Jan. 21-23) in Medellín, Colombia, to connect, collaborate and explore trends impacting the apparel industry.

Colombiatex is the leading textile tradeshow and expo in Latin America, with 500 exhibitors and 26,000 attendees from 60 countries expected at the three-day event.

“It’s where supply and demand meet, and where national and international brands begin their distribution journey in Latin America,” explains Adriana Morasco, vice president, South America. “We’re excited to showcase our newest technologies and what we stand for as a company, and to build relationships with direct clients, brands and retailers by showing how we continue to stay a step ahead of consumer needs and tastes.”

The LYCRA® brand will highlight its latest innovations, priorities and partnerships at a dynamic booth located near the show’s main entrance. The experience will feature interactive displays of LYCRA® EcoMade fiber, LYCRA® T400® EcoMade fiber, COOLMAX® EcoMade fiber, LYCRA® FitSense™ technology and LYCRA® MyFit™ fiber – as well as information about the Planet Agenda sustainability platform – with a fashionable flair reflecting the energy and vibrancy of the region.

Each day, a series of runway presentations will highlight apparel, swimwear, denim and sportwear collections garment makers throughout Latin America produce with LYCRA® fiber and LYCRA® technologies. The team also will promote its brand hangtag and virtual tag programs, which communicate to shoppers the superior comfort, fit and freedom of movement benefits the clothes they buy provide.

“We hope to show how LYCRA® fiber continues to contribute to the evolution, comfort, movement and resilience of garments, as well as to promote the fabrics of our mills and brand partners,” Morasco said. “This is not your typical tradeshow booth. We’ve been coming to Colombiatex for 25 years, and every year we try to create something fun, fresh and unexpected.”

More than anything, the team hopes to create and strengthen connections with core stakeholders. “We’re an international brand that does much more than make quality fibers,” Morasco concluded. “We create connections throughout the textile chain – mills, garment makers, brands, retailers and more – that will drive our industry forward.”
