Europe’s premier sports and outdoor tradeshow will be held Jan. 26-29. The LYCRA Company booth will show how they partner with brands and their supply chains to add value to performance garments – in line with consumers’ active lifestyles and their desire for comfort, fit and shape.
Attendees can learn about Planet Agenda, the commitment to building a better future through a focus on product sustainability, manufacturing excellence and corporate responsibility. The platform provides insights, technologies, products and processes to help customers reduce waste, save energy, extend garment wear life and more.
“We have a lot to talk about at this year’s show,” said Arnaud Ruffin, director, brands and retail, EMEA. “From our updated Planet Agenda, to innovative technologies that will have a big impact on the apparel we wear – especially for those of us looking for sustainable fabric solutions that offer stretch, warming and cooling benefits – we continue to respond to trade and consumer needs with fiber breakthroughs that drive the industry forward.”
Here’s a look at a few innovations The LYCRA Company will showcase at ISPO:
• LYCRA® FitSense™ technology is a patented, water-based dispersion that features the same molecule as LYCRA® fiber, but in liquid form. This revolutionary innovation is screen-printed onto fabric containing LYCRA® fiber to provide lightweight, targeted support where it’s needed most. It offers unlimited design possibilities for brands and retailers and can also offer cost offset opportunities by eliminating sewn-in panels and extra seams.
• LYCRA® MyFit™ fiber is a patent-pending polymer engineered to deliver a customized fit experience with greater shape tolerance for a range of body types within a size. This innovation directly addresses consumer needs around fit, helping brands reduce returns and build consumer loyalty.
• LYCRA EcoMade fiber is the company’s first branded elastane made with pre-consumer recycled materials, offering the same performance as the original LYCRA® fiber, but made partly with fiber waste collected at the company’s manufacturing sites. The waste is blended with virgin polymer at specific concentrations.
“Sustainability is incredibly important to our business,” said Jean Hegedus, sustainability director. “Our Planet Agenda strategy encompasses many options for brands and retailers to get best-in-class fibers with reduced environmental impact. For example, we have completely updated our COOLMAX® and THERMOLITE® EcoMade fiber product ranges to offer a broad range of recycled products – third-party certified with at least 90% recycled content featuring uncompromised quality and performance. We look forward to sharing our sustainability story at ISPO.”
