Hottest London Swimwear Show to Date!

On 22 – 24 July, London played host to some of the best designs and inspiring innovations in swimwear, beachwear and accessories as over 80 exceptional exhibitors from around the globe came together for the 10th annual London Swimwear Show. With visitor numbers were up on last year, enthusiastic buyers and retailers from independent stores, as well as large department stores and chains, poured in through the doors of London’s Radisson Blu Portman to meet the exhibitors.

Much to celebrate at the China launch of the LYCRA® brand campaign

The five-star shopping mall at the Raffles City complex in Shanghai – one of the city’s glitziest must-see locations – had something special on offer at the end of April. The 60th anniversary of LYCRA® fiber was marked by the launch of a new phase of the LYCRA® MOVES YOU™ consumer campaign.

Around 100 trade and media guests attended an event that it will be hard to surpass for innovation and creativity. BANDALOOP, California-based pioneers of ‘vertical dance’, added a new dimension – literally – to demonstrating the benefits of LYCRA® fiber.

Dr. Joseph C. Shivers, a DuPont chemist, invented today’s best-known branded fiber in the world back in 1958, and forever changed clothes and the way we wear them.

Celebrating Sixty Years of Comfort, Fit and Movement

LYCRA® fiber, the original spandex fiber that revolutionized the fashion industry, is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. Dr. Joseph C. Shivers, Jr ., a chemist at DuPont, invented the best-known branded fiber in the world in 1958, and forever changed clothes and the way we wear them. Dr. Shivers passed away in 2014, but he is being posthumously inducted into the National Inventors Hall of Fame on May 3, 2018. INVISTA, owner of the LYCRA® brand, has made a donation to the non-profit organization to pay tribute to the inventor of LYCRA® fiber.
